Who Can Submit?

Those wishing to have their vision and voice heard at ICPP 2018! Subject matter committees and any other groups, committees, or i​ndividuals interested in organizing and moderating a concurrent session.
 

Submission Tips

#1 As you prepare to submit a proposed concurrent session, please consider the ICPP 2018 theme and vision:
Theme: Plant Health in a Global Economy

 
Vision: An engaged world community of plant health scientists advancing knowledge for a safe, affordable, secure supply of food, feed and fiber for a growing population.

 
#2 We encourage subject matter committees and individuals with the similar areas of interest to work globally together in planning concurrent sessions. This will help eliminate duplication and create better scientific content.
 

Concurrent Session Format

Concurrent Sessions have the following format:
  • Four (4) invited speakers (20 minutes each)
  • Two (2) contributed short talks (10 minutes each)
  • Discussion to follow
Please Note: Only the four (4) invited speakers need to be identified for the concurrent session proposal.
The contributed short talks, workshops, field trips, etc. will be selected by the Scientific Program Committee from those submitted during the ICPP 2018 general call for abstracts that will open at a later date.
 

Concurrent Session Submission Preparation and Process

As you propose speakers for your concurrent session, please consider the following questions:
  • Do your proposed speakers represent gender and international diversity, multiple institutions, and different types of careers within plant pathology?
  • Are junior and senior scientists included?
  • Do the speakers for your proposed concurrent session represent diverse perspectives on the topic?

Complete the speaker information, but do not invite speakers at this time as these are proposed concurrent sessions and not yet approved.

The Scientific Planning Committee will contact all submitters in early March, 2017.
Please note: Due to the number of submissions, it will not be possible to select all proposed sessions.
